Rebranding for a mate
that has their back
We’re very excited to have recently launched an exciting rebrand and campaign for Activ8me, Australia’s leading satellite and broadband internet provider.
Activ8me has been operating for over 15 years and is proudly 100% Australian owned, with all staff based in Australia. They entered the market recognising the critical need to connect people in rural areas, quickly positioning Activ8me Australia’s largest satellite broadband provider. Whilst the brand was a success story, it needed help defining its’ point of difference and modernising its’ visual identity.
Through the strategic process, our agency identified a mission for the brand: “to empower more people, businesses and communities in Australia to grow and prosper by connecting and maintaining the best and most reliable services in remote, rural and regional centres”. Being Australian owned, and the only true specialist in non-metro areas, only Activ8me can truly deliver against this mission. If you live in these areas, Activ8me ‘has your back’.
We completed a total rebrand for Activ8me, including a new logo and associated visual identity that stretches across all brand and communication materials which makes the brand look, feel and behave like the category leader that it is.
An integral part of the new brand is the creation of a spokesperson – an animated character called M8 (Mate), voiced by well-known comedian Peter Rowsthorn. M8 features across all brand touchpoints, including a fully integrated campaign (TV, radio, print, POS/ collateral, digital assets and website) that encourages customers to ‘Activate with a Mate’ via promoting the retail offers exclusive to Activ8me customers.
According to Tony Bundrock, Activ8me Chairman:
“We’re excited to unveil our new visual identity that positions Activ8me as the regional communications experts. In a highly competitive NBN market, we have differentiated ourselves by understanding local internet needs gained over 15 years’ experience connecting and installing internet services in regional Australia, a team national Agents and an Aussie Call Centre.”
“Our focus of bringing better internet to regional Australia has resulted in our continual success as Australia’s number 1 satellite provider. We are now expanding what regional Australians love about Activ8me, to all other NBN technologies. We feel our new campaign will help us achieve this.”
Andrew Begg, Traffic’s Founder and CEO said the latest campaign is an important milestone for Activ8me:
“This rebrand and campaign positions Activ8me as the only provider that was specifically created for those who live in regional and rural Australia. So it sets Activ8me apart from other players in the category, and the campaign is already having great cut-through in these markets”.
The multi-channel campaign, featuring TV, radio, print, billboards, digital banners, website and social media, has recently commenced and will be running in regional and rural Australia throughout the year.
