Celebrating 25 years of Catalina
Background
Exclusive, iconic Sydney waterfront venue, Catalina Rose Bay, needed a revitalised look incorporating its existing heritage to mark its twenty-five years in business whilst celebrating multi generations of clients.
The strategy
Traffic were commissioned by the venue to create a new commemorative brand identity to drive awareness of the iconic venues twenty fifth birthday whilst refreshing its existing brand assets without tarnishing its heritage or the existing look or feel of the brand, and roll it out across signage, menus, invitations, postcards and marketing collateral in time for its anniversary event for 450 VIP’s, media and celebrities in Sydney.
Having already worked with established venues and brands, we understand the importance of heritage and family businesses and knew how to communicate this through luxury design.
Our solution
Working closely with the McMahon family, we helped express this deeply rooted DNA visually and developed a set of firm brand values that laid the foundation for the brand identity as well as their vision for the business moving into its next twenty-five years. Taking inspiration from its silver anniversary and key waterfront position, we set about designing a logo and developing a visual brand identity that would reflect the traditional-modern balance of the menu and the venue.
The result is a timeless visual marker for Catalina that looks established yet modern. It also slots nicely into the refined bar, restaurant and landscape of the well-heeled district that surrounds it.
